Abstract
To the Editor. —Yap and Bodey, in theArchives(139:656-657, 1979), have shown the safety and value of troche application of clotrimazole for treating oral candidiasis in cancer patients, and they make a plea for this form of the drug to be available for the treatment of thrush. The important factor is the strictly topical application of an adequate concentration of a fungicide. Nystatin mouthwashes may fail dismally, but flat oval nystatin vaginal pessaries held comfortably overnight between the gums and cheek can be effective after two or three nights' treatment. Contributions ordinarily should not exceed 500 words in length, with a maximum of five references; one Figure or Table can be printed .
