Abstract

<p class="ql-align-justify">The purpose of this study is to analyze the Middle East Policy of Democrat Part during the 1950-1960 within the frame of security. While doing this, the Baghdad Pact was discussed as the main axis. Although Baghdad Pact was started with big expectations from Turkey, it couldn’t reach its aims. Besides that, the Baghdad Pact was a cooperation text which caused different security problems. It eventually ended up in the dusty pages of history. The reason that Baghdad Pact backfired; Turkey, the United Kingdom, Iran and Pakistan, all&nbsp;members of the Baghdad Pact, had different security objectives. Therefore, both member and non-member states have been dispersed in completely different directions within a short time. In this study, I tried to examine the role of security in Middle East in the period of the Democrat Party.&nbsp;
