Abstract
The oldest institution, which conducts dictionary activities in Turkey regularly is the Turkish Linguistic Society. The Dictionary Science and Practice Branch, which has been in operation since the establishment of the institution (in 1932), has determined the direction of Turkish lexicography with its theoretical and practical studies on dictionary. The dictionary activities of the Turkish Language Institution are not limited to preparing a dictionary (application part). Through periodicals (journals) published by the institution, the history of the dictionary, as well as theoretical information, criticism, news, promotion and so on. also offers articles of interest to the dictionary. When these are examined, it is possible to clarify the issues such as the development of Turkish lexicography in the last century, the situations in which they are frequently interested and the main problems in the field. For this purpose, the articles related to the dictionary in periodicals should be evaluated carefully. Online system of the institution and publications as of 25.07.2019 contain a total of 21,430 articles. Only 272 of them are related to dictionaries; that is, the articles about the dictionary occupies only 1.26% of the articles. When the content analyzes of these articles were made, it was observed that contributions to the Turkish Dictionary (excerpts in word and sentence size), new dictionary introductions, news about the dictionaries abroad, evaluations and criticisms were heavily processed.
