Abstract

Tritium concentrations were measured in various environmental materials around a typical nuclear power station in Japan. Sampling was carried out once a month over a year. Clearly elevated tritium was observed on one occasion in pine needles and surface soil in accordance with a high tritium concentration in seawater, though no incidental tritium increase was observed in atmospheric water vapour, hydrogen and methane.
