Trisetopsis himalayensis, a new species from the valley of the Maitoli Glacier, Western Himalaya (India), is described and illustrated. The new species is morphologically most similar to T. virescens, but differs from it in ligule, leaf blade, panicle and spikelet characters. Data on its geographical distribution, habitat and associated plant species are presented. An identification key to the species of Trisetopsis in India is also provided.
