Abstract
The crystal structure of the title complex, [Ni(C12H8N2)3](C4H5O5)2·4H2O, consists of NiII complex cations, malate anions and solvent water molecules. The NiII ion is located on a twofold axis and chelated by three phenanthroline (phen) with a distorted octahedral geometry.
