Triple-Regge phenomenology. A new approach.

Abstract

The amplitude for the inclusive reaction A+B\ensuremath{\rightarrow}C+anything is evaluated in terms of known quantities, overcoming the difficulty of the triple-Regge vertex by expressing the three-Reggeon residue ${\ensuremath{\beta}}_{{\ensuremath{\alpha}}_{i}{\ensuremath{\alpha}}_{i}}^{P}$ in terms of the residue ${\ensuremath{\beta}}_{{R}_{i}{R}_{i}}^{P}$, where ${R}_{i}$ is a known resonance on the ${\ensuremath{\alpha}}_{i}$ trajectory. An application to pp\ensuremath{\rightarrow}${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}$X is made.
