Abstract

Parabolic antenna stacking provides a consolidation approach to reduce the amount of U.S. Navy shipboard topside antennas. This antenna consolidation method provides multi-frequency capabilities on a single pedestal. This paper demonstrates the design and simulated results of a triple cassegrain parabolic stacked antenna for Satellite Communication (SATCOM) and Line of Sight (LoS) operations. Antenna CAD and design tools such as Antenna Magus and CST Microwave Studio were used to produce models and simulation results. The triple cassegrain parabolic stacked antenna focuses on providing a Q, X and Ka band capable solution for SATCOM operations and Ku band capabilities for LoS operations.
