Abstract

To reduce the interference problems from nearby communication systems within an ultrawideband, the requirement for an efficient band notched design is increased. The proposed triple band notch antenna array is a coplanar waveguide fed radiator with inbuilt notching resonators, etched to achieve desired band rejection. Three different notch antennas, each corresponds to a specific band rejection are used in a single structure. C shape & inverted u shape slots in the patch and CSRR in the ground plane, each corresponds to a specific band of frequency rejection such as Wimax [3.5 GHz], WLAN [5.2GHz], Satellite Service Bands [8.2GHz]. The introduction of the EBG structures in between the two antennas shows the significant reduction in the mutual coupling effects and improves the antenna parameters (peak realized gain, radiation pattern).
