Abstract

In this letter, we propose a triple-band stacked circular-polarized patch antenna design that covers all Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) bands (1.166-1.289, 1.554-1.612, and 2.482-2.502 GHz). The mutual couplings among three bands decrease the performance of radiant efficiency. To address this problem, we adopt two shorted annular rings, which are formed with circular array of via. Furthermore, to increase the impedance band at low L-band, we adopt a four-L-probe feeding configuration. Compared to other reported GNSS antennas, the proposed antenna covers all GNSS band, possesses much better gain pattern and phase center performance, and is suitable for high-precision GNSS applications.
