Abstract
Three isomorphous linear trinuclear complexes [M 3(DPyF) 4][PF 6] 2 · 4CH 3CN · 2Et 2O, M = Cu(II), Co(II), Fe(II), DPyF = N,N′-di(2-pyridyl) formamidinate, have been synthesized and their structures have been determined by single crystal X-ray crystallography. The structure of the cations in these compounds consists of a linear, symmetrical chain of metal atoms. The central metal atom is coordinated by four nitrogen atoms that form a ruffled planar array while the outer atoms are six-coordinate.
