Trigonal planar clusters Ag@Ag3 supported by (2-PyCH2)3P ligands

Abstract

Two complexes containing rare trigonal planar clusters [email protected]3, [[email protected]3(Pic3P)2(MeCN)3](BF4)4 and [[email protected]3(Pic3P)2(NO3)4], have been synthesized by the treatment of tris[(pyridine-2-yl)methyl]phosphine (Pic3P) with AgBF4 and AgNO3, respectively. At ambient temperature, solid complex [[email protected]3(Pic3P)2(MeCN)3](BF4)4 displays pronounced excitation-dependent luminescence expressed by two emission bands with λmax = 430 and 540 nm.
