Abstract

Trigemial nerve branches containing primary afferent fibers to the dorsal division of the principal sensory trigeminal nucleus (Vp) were examined in the cat by the transganglionic horseradish peroxidase method. The results indicate that the pterygopalatine, superior alveolar, infraorbital, buccal, lingual, inferior alveolar and mental nerves contain primary afferent fibers terminating in the dorsal division of the Vp probably conveying sensory information chiefly from the intraoral structures.
