Abstract
The missing link in the series (FCN) n(FSN) 3−n(n=O−3), the dithiatriazine (FCN)(FSN) 2, was prepared from the novel trichloride (CICN)(CISN) 2 (1) and AgF 2: ▪ Thiatriazines act as well as fluoride ion donors as acceptors, e.g. ▪ TAS + F - destroys the triathiatriazine ring system of (NSF) 3, AsF 5 reacts with (FCN) 3 to give a stable, nitrogen-bonded adduct. The new compounds were characterized by NMR- and IR-spectroscopy. The structures and bonding in these systems will be discussed.
