Abstract

Ten metabolites, named tricycloalternarenes, were isolated from the culture filtrate of the phytopathogenic fungus, Alternaria alternata, and their structures elucidated by spectroscopic methods. Seven compounds are described for the first time. Tricycloalternarenes related to the ACTG-toxins from A. citri cannot be denoted as host-specific toxins.
