Abstract

Trichodorus viruliferus n. sp., ♂ & ♀, is described from a light sandy English soil. It is close to T. primitivus (de Man 1880) Micoletzky, 1922 and T. similis, Seinhorst, 1963 from which it is distinguished by the shape of the spicules and gubernaculum in the male and the shape, in lateral view, of the cutinized pieces at the vulva and the shape of the vagina in the female. This species transmits a virus resembling pea early browning virus.
