Abstract

Trichius sexualis Bedel, 1906 is declared to be a nomen protectum. The name's availability is suggested by accepting the original reference “Reitt.” as cumulative bibliographic reference (indication). Evidence for usage according to ICZN Art. 23.9.1. is presented. The senior synonyms Trichius abdominalis var. bipartitus Heyden, 1889, Trichius gallicus var. bipunctatus Kraatz, 1891, and Trichius gallicus bivittulatus Kraatz, 1891 are nomina oblita. Other potential senior synonyms are either unavailable or of unclear specific identity and also nomina oblita. (© 2010 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
