Abstract
The results of studies on the friction coefficient in steel, bronze, and cast iron friction pairs under the conditions of lubrication are presented. Comparative testing of the tribotechnical properties of motor oil without and with the addition of a specialized additive using a UMT-1 universal friction machine has been performed. The analysis of the results has demonstrated a narrow efficiency range of the additive in steel–cast iron and cast iron–bronze friction pairs upon introduction into motor oil.
