Abstract

In order to estimate the tribological effectiveness of fluoroparaffin coatings, the coefficient of frictions of the copper disk–steel pin friction pair were measured on samples with lubricants. The dependence of the coefficient of friction on the molecular weight of fluoroparaffins has been found; a reduction with an increase in the molecular weight has been shown and the dependences of variations in the coefficient of friction on the load and sliding velocity have been established. A comparison was conducted of the behavior of the coefficient of friction for fluoroparaffin lubricants and a coating of FORUM composition product, which contains fluoroparaffins as a component.
