Abstract

Over the past few years, researchers have gained much attention from triboelectricity owing to its great potential applications in energy harvesting and health care centers. In this context, we highlighted the triboelectricity performance from the beginning to modern days and covered the diversity of fields related to energy harvesting and point-of-care system applications. The natural, eco-friendly, and cost-effective way of energy harvesting from natural materials such as polymers and others is essential for human health, primarily related to human skin or to prevent any hazardous infectious disease. Therefore, triboelectricity-based nanogenerators and devices are very beneficial in curing these diseases. Similarly, this is also helpful in the point-of-care system, where different diagnoses can easily be treated without facing any hurdles. These triboelectricity devices pave the way for patients to treat it smoothly and efficiently. Furthermore, due to the rapid increase of TENGs, which is the highly desirable choice for energy harvesting and PoC systems for producing self-powered based systems as well as biomedical sensors for this purpose, triboelectricity-based PoC devices are now very beneficial in low-and-middle-income countries.
