Abstract

It is known that the seperation of gas as a result of free gas entry into the pump or the pressure decrease within the cylinder contributes to the reduction of pump efficiency, and this, in its turn, leads to the decrease of pump productivity as well. The paper authors suppose that one of the aspects affecting the pump efficiency is the triboelectric effect occuring in the valves. The paper analyzes the results of theoretic and experimental studies of this effect. Based on the experiment, a mathematic-statistic analysis is carried out and it is revealed that with the elimination of the triboelectric effect, the increase of pump efficiency for 2-3 % is possible.
