Abstract
The measurements of various neutrino oscillation parameters have entered a precision era. The global fit to current data give the following best-fit values and 2 sigma limits: sin2ϕ23 = 0.5(0.38 − 0.64) sin2ϕ13 = 0 (< 0.028) sin2ϕ12 = 0.30 (0.25 − 0.34) The best-fit values are very close to the predictions of the Tri-Bimaximal Mixing Matrix. In terms of the oscillation parameters, the TBM Matrix predicts the mixing angles and the flavor compositions of the neutrino mass eigenstates. The TBM Matrix can arise from a family symmetry based on the tetrahedral group A4, in the lepton sector. However, A4 does not give rise to CKM mixing when generalized to the quark sector. Alternatively, we consider the double tetrahedral group, (d)T, as the family symmetry.
