Abstract

Along the Northern Calcareous Alps (NCA) and Southern Alps (SA) more than 1000 m thick carbonate ramps, platforms and basinal deposits developed in transtensional rifted basins. New ammonite and conodont data and the sequence-stratigraphic reinterpretation of already well known sections allow a first comparison of sequence boundaries and flooding surfaces in NCA and SA.
