Abstract
TRIALBYJURYASAFORMOFIMPLEMENTATIONOFTHEPRINCIPLEOF CITIZENS’PARTICIPATIONINTHEADMINISTRATIONOFJUSTICE The article outlines the main provisions of the implementation of the principle of citizens’ participation in the administration of justice in the form of a trial by jury. In its historical development, the institution of jury trial has undergone changes. The procedure for the formation of a panel of jurors, changes in the jurisdiction of cases involving jurors are the main issues set out in the article. The authors analyzed the current legislation and the changes that have occurred in the regulation of this institution. The article formulates proposals for improving the criminal procedure law.
