AbstractDehydration of 3, 4‐diethylhexanol‐3 by means of oxalic acid yields mainly a mixture of Z and E‐isomers of 3, 4‐diethylhexene‐2. After separation by preparative GLC the identification and configurational assignment was made by 13C and 1H n.m.r.
