Abstract
Interest in mining petroleum has been renewed recently as prices climb, supplies decrease, and the need to improve recovery is recognized. The Trenton Formation in northwestern Ohio is a carbonate reservoir which was developed during the 1880s and depleted shortly after the turn of the century. The formation appears to satisfy at least the minimum requirements of significant past production, relatively shallow depth, and associated competent rock to support shafts, and therefore a detailed analysis may be justified.
