Abstract
New trends towards globalization are irreversible. The formation of the basis for a global social system is facilitated by science and technology and other forces. A new stage in the development of a global think tank has been reached. An overview of futures studies at the global level shows clearly that these trends have been related in the initial stages of development, but a new turning point is appearing after nearly two decades. China's think tank has perceived that learning from the world and participating in a think tank at the global level are imperative under the circumstances of globalization.
