Abstract

The surgical management of benign adnexal masses may range from simple cystectomy to salpingo-oophorectomy. Ovarian sparing procedures are preferred for children and adolescents to protect their future reproductive potential. The goal of this study was to determine clinical variables and patient demographics associated with ovarian sparing surgery in the adolescent female population and whether minimally invasive procedures have resulted in higher salvage rates of healthy ovarian tissue.
