Abstract
Summary This paper begins by looking at the changing nature of Jewish education, reflecting profound changes in Jewish life‐style. It examines the significance of both Christian experience in the field of teaching religion and modern educational theory for Jewish education. The paper concludes with some comments on underlying problems of lack of time, lack of trained teachers and ambivalent parental attitudes. It paints a more child‐centred picture of Jewish education.
