Analytical research is used to provide a quantitative analysis of academic literature . It is also used in mapping the implication of research in the concerned field. It is useful to assess research quality and on the account of the assessment results, allocates the position of the academic institutions. This paper highlights the different publications of health science in India published in “Indian Journal of Medical Research” and indexed in SCOPUS database. Here is an attempt to discuss the research papers, authors affiliation to different academic and research organizations, authors contribution and preferably this paper highlights the author’s geographical attachment. Bibliometric indicators including total articles, independent articles, collaborative articles, first author articles, and corresponding author articles were analyzed to compare publications between different countries and organizations. All the data and information were retrieved from the SCOPUS database on 27 April 2016 for a period from 1945 to 2015. Indian researchers have their collaboration with other 77 countries and contributed 8331 research outputs to the health sector. There are only 12,177 papers published in this journal, where New Delhi is ahead among all the major cities in India with 1686 number of publications. The number can be more if proper encouragement and adequate infrastructure is provided to the health science researchers. More collaboration can be appreciated for the improvement of research activity.
