Abstract
This paper discusses the current status of the education of engineers in France, along with recent changes in the system designed to meet a growing demand for environmental education. An overall assessment of the French system of engineering and environmental education is provided, in addition to a review of an example of France’s successful university system, the Polytechnic Institute of Lorraine.
