Abstract
Since 2006, ACOG has recommended restricted use of prophylactic episiotomy, however data on its role in operative vaginal delivery (OVD) is limited. Our objectives were i) to evaluate trends in use of episiotomy among OVD from 2000-2018 and ii) to determine the impact of episiotomy on risk of obstetric anal sphincter injuries (OASIS) in OVD.
