Abstract
Trends in kerosines and domestic oil-fired appliances in Japan are reviewed. In case of the flue-less portable type appliances, problems concerning the safety, smoking tendency, char forming tendency, odour of combustion gas and performance of wicks are discussed both from the point of fuel and appliances.Some problems, such as smoking tendency and deposit forming tendency of pot-type oil heaters are also presented.Finally the auther forecasts some future aspects of the fuel and domestic oil heaters.
