Abstract

This paper investigated the present situation of global and Chinese photovoltaic market by trend analysis. The analysis showed that the global photovoltaic market began to recover, and the annual and cumulative installed photovoltaic power capacity grew rapidly. Germany was still the country with the largest cumulative installation in the world, while China was developing faster and faster in recent years, and has occupied the first in terms of the annual installed photovoltaic power capacity with the second place in terms of the cumulative installation. However, problems such as high electricity cost, grid connection issue and difficulties in financing have hindered its further development, which perplexed the Chinese government very much. Then, lessons and experience for solving such problems were worked out by examining characteristics of international photovoltaic power generation policies. Policy analysis suggested that policies such as Feed-in Tariffs, investment subsidy, tax credit and net-metering were common ways in photovoltaic field, among which Feed-in Tariffs was believed to be the most effective way to stimulate its flourish. As the continuing decrease of photovoltaic products price and the constant adjustment of macroeconomic situation, policies on photovoltaic power generation of countries around the world also need to be continuously adjusted.
