Abstract

Tremorine increases the content of brain acetylcholine (AcCh) by as much as 40% by an action is not due to an inhibition of brain acetylcholinesterase. The time-course of the increase in AcCh corresponds roughly to that of the pharmacological effects. The increase in acetylcholine is counteracted by low doses of atropine.
