Abstract

A trellis-coded 8-ary PSK system with slow frequency hopping, pilot symbol aided and small-sized interleaving techniques for land mobile communications is proposed. The bit error rate (BER) performance of the system in the presence of additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN), cochannel interference (CCI) and slow Raleigh fading are evaluated by computer simulation. It is shown that the proposed system gives considerable performance imporvement and much less delay in a slow fading environment.
