Abstract

SummaryThis review includes a total of 5316 patients that have been treated with different regimens for bacterial vaginosis (vaginal bacteriosis). After re-calculation, the cure rate with end-point analysis is about 80 per cent in open studies and 65 per cent in blind studies with metronidazole and about the same in blind studies with vaginal clindamycin cream. The expected cure rate after one month is around 65 per cent.
