Abstract

Objective To investigate treatment outcome of thoracic outletsyndrome in conjunction with distal nerve compression at the same stage. Methods 8 cases of thoracic outlet syndrome in conjunction with distal nerve compression were involved. Neuro lysis of brachial plexus and distal nerve compression was done at same stage. All compressed factors were excised. Results According to assessment standard described by Chen , treatment outcome was excellent in 3 cases, good in 4 cases, poor in 1 cases.Conclusions For patients with thoracic outlet syndrome in conjunction with distal nerve compression who presented with muscle atrophy, neurolysis of the proximal and distal nerve should be done at the same stage to improve treatment outcome and curative rate.
