Abstract

Summary This is a case of hemolytic Staphylococcusalbus , coagulase negative, bacterial pericarditis with pericardial effusion treated successfully with bacitracin alone. Although the drug was used in doses larger than that recommended by the company, no apparent permanent ill effects occurred in this case. We feel that this drug will be used more often as the resistance of organisms to other antibiotics becomes more pronounced.
