Abstract

Objective To investigate the therapeutic effect of fractional Q-switched 1 064 nm laser in treatment of sebaceous gland hyperplasia. Methods 36 patients with sebaceous gland hyperplasia were recruited and treated with fractional Q-switched 1 064 nm laser, once per 1-2 weeks, 6-8 times for a course, lesion clearance, post-treatment scaring and pigmentation were observed. Results Skin lesions gradually shrank or came off after one course of treatment with fractional Q-switched 1 064 nm laser, leaving mild difference of texture compared with the surrounding skin, no obvious scaring or pigment anomaly occurred, no recurrence was found during 6-month follow-up. Conclusions Fractional Q-switched 1 064 nm laser is effective for clearance of sebaceous gland hyperplasia, furthermore, it presents more pleasant cosmetic outcome could be obtained by a single technique.
