Abstract

Treatment of obese patients with psoriasis is a therapeutic challenge. Because of the lack of safety and efficacy data in the literature, the Medical Advisory Board of the National Psoriasis Foundation has been unable to provide a treatment algorithm to be used with these patients. Psoriasis in obese patients is often more severe, responds less favorably to treatment, and is complicated by challenging comorbid conditions that limit therapeutic options. We present a case report highlighting the difficulty of safely and effectively treating an obese patient with psoriasis.
