Abstract
Pseudocysts of the auricle are an uncommon yet challenging benign condition characterized by painful cystic swelling of the ear.1 Treatment modalities such as intralesional triamcinolone, cryosurgery, excision, and deroofing are not always successful because recurrence is common.1,2 Additionally, the underlying avascular cartilage and cosmetically sensitive location provide additional challenges. A 37-year-old woman was referred for a 2-year history of an exquisitely tender pseudocyst of the auricle (Supplemental Fig 1, available via Mendeley at https://data.mendeley.com/datasets/g9ckychcgk/2) that was recalcitrant to conservative measures such as rest, pressure offloading, and intralesional triamcinolone.
