Abstract

Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of small incision extraction cataract extracapsularis(ECCE) and intraoeular lens(IOL) implantation on phacolytic glaucoma. Methods Fifty cases(50 eyes) with phacolytic glaucoma received small incision ECCE and IOL implantation.Postoperative visual acuity and intraocular pressure were examined and any complications during and after surgery were observed. Results At the third month after the surgery, the average corrective visual acuity was 0.1-0.5 in 7 eyes,0.6-0.9 in 35 eyes,1.0 of better in 8 eyes ; and the intraocular pressure were under control.Compared with the preoperative condition, differences were significant(P <0.01).There were no severe complications occurring intra-operatively or post-operatively.Conclusions Small incision ECCE combined with IOL implantation is an effective treatment for phacolytic glaucoma.
