Abstract

Twenty-five sample pigeon faeces were examined to detect the prevalence of natural infection of coccidiosis among these birds. Out of 25 pigeons examined , 21 birds were found infected ( 84%) , 12 infected pigeons were males (85.7% ) and 9 were female (81.8%).Flotation by zinc sulphate was the best method for diagnosis of the parasite oocystes in the faeces of the birds comparison to the direct examination, with significant differences was p>0.05.The extract of ginger (Zingibarofficinale ) exhibited high efficiency in treatment of infected pigeons with coccidiosis, and the highest efficiency 91% was by using 10% of the extract, with significant differences on level p>0.05 comparison to that of 5% which was 70%.
