Abstract
Much progress has been made in the past decade in our knowledge of the treatment, pathology, and use of biological markers in malignant germ cell tumors (MGCT) in children and in adults. In France, a common prospective study on these tumors was started in 1985 by the French Society of Pediatric Oncology (SFOP). It is based primarily on the experience of the Institut Gustave Roussy (IGR) between 1978 and 1984. We report here the results concerning the patients treated in IGR between 1978 and 1984 and the preliminary results of the SFOP study.
