Abstract

This six-year-old girl presented to the Neurometabolic Clinic for evaluation of medically intractable seizures, global developmental delay, and behavioral concerns. Since developing clusters of seizures at age two years, she had tried multiple medications. She had multiple seizure types, consisting primarily of focal seizures with secondary generalization, which were exacerbated by fever. Prior electroencephalographs were normal or were consistent with a right frontal seizure onset. At the time of her initial assessment, her medications were oxcarbamazepine, topiramate, valproic acid, and lacosamide.
