Abstract
Objective To study the effects of oncolytic adenovirus SG600-IL24 carrying human melanoma differentiation associated gene-7/interleukin-24 (MDA-7/IL-24) and interferon on hepatoma xenografts in nude mice. Methods The oncolytic adenovirus SG600-IL24 carrying human MDA-7/IL-24(SG600-IL24) was constructed.SG600-IL24 and/or interferon were injected into the nude mice with hepatoma xenografts and the antitumor effects were observed. Results The oncolytic adenovirus SG600-IL24 carrying human MDA-7/IL-24 (SG600-IL24) was constructed successfully. The mice treated with SG600-IL24 plus interferon had significantly longer survival time (3 mice > 120 days) and smaller tumor volume than in other groups [control group:(35.20 ± 1.53) days,IFN group:(67.60 ±2.10) days,SG600-IL24 group:(59.20 ± 1.16) days,SG600-IL24 plus interferon group (111.20 ±2.60) days] (P<0.01).Conclusion Oncolytic adenovirus SG600-IL24 combined with interferon has Synergistic antitumor effects on metastastic hepatoma model in nude mice.
