AbstractA 2‐year‐old, spayed, female boxer was referred after ingestion of 30 mg/kg flurbiprofen. Treatment included therapeutic plasma exchange in addition to conventional medical management. Therapeutic plasma exchange was efficient in removing flurbiprofen from the dog's plasma, with one complication being a transient face swelling. Despite three‐times lethal dose (LD50) intoxication, the patient fully recovered after transient azotaemia and proteinuria. This case presentation confirms that extracorporeal blood purification may be effective in treating a lethal consumption of flurbiprofen and may provide important resources for human and veterinary patient intoxication care, as flurbiprofen is widely used.
