Abstract

The interdisciplinary team planning emergency psychiatric intervention with children, adolescents, and their families, can reach reliable conclusions about the essential characteristics of the parentchild relationship that enable them to intervene actively in the reorganization of the pathological family interaction. Basically, one cannot conceive of a dynamic short-term psychotherapy that differs from the methods used for intensive prolonged psychotherapy (Kaffman, 1963, p. 205).
