Abstract

i r d a n w r acial clefts are rare, with an incidence of 1.5–5/100,000 irths and 1/100 cases of cleft lip and palate.1 Tessier number clefts are even rarer.2 Tessier classified facial, craniofacial, nd laterofacial clefts based on anatomical sites between 0 nd 14.3 According to this classification, number 4 is defined s a “central” orbitomaxillary cleft. It passes almost vertically hrough the infraorbital rim and orbital floor, and medial to he infraorbital nerve through the maxillary sinus and cheek.3 t is also known as medial maxillary dysplasia.4 Diagnosis f such clefts is possible by ultrasound imaging at 10 weeks’ estation.5
